Feijoa blossoms

Not only do they promise delicious pineapple guavas, the feijoa blossom is very attractive.

Opening from now, at various stages on the tree, the fruit are due at Easter, about 6 months away.

I’m not sure if trees have a fruiting cycle, but whatever it’s called, the feijoa seems to have a long time compared to my stone fruits.

No matter, from any angle it’s a fascinating blossom. Who would have thought that red and purple could work together?
