Ceembolizes an act of kindness

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is symbolizes an act of kindness. While talking to the host, herself, about my blogging hurdles, Cee offered to help.

What a kind offer!

We set up a time and had to start with my not-very-user-friendly theme at the time. Some of you may have noticed the change(s) (and it isn’t over yet).

My site was the same from when I first followed WordPress’s guide to setting up a blog, and really had no idea. I also didn’t realise how my blog looked when others opened it. Yoiks!

We’ve had a couple of zooms and I’ve discovered things I didn’t know about navigating WordPress and developing my site. There is homework, with help, and decisions are always my own, after receiving Cee’s advice and opinion.

That’s Cee, on my screen, looking at the shared page

I haven’t settled on a theme, yet, but am enjoying the learning and the difference. My original difficulties were around navigating layout options for photos and text, but I can see how the theme affects this, so will get to that later.

Cee, nestled in the top corner as we scroll through themes and check each one against my checklist.

Cee is 16.5 hours behind my time zone and years ahead of my experience with blogging. Her patience, knowledge and flexibility in setting up this offer of help is a massive act of kindness.

If any of you are thinking about increasing your knowledge of navigation, presentation or some other aspect of your blog, at a reasonable cost, I can highly recommend Cee.

Thanks, Cee, and thanks also, to Xingfumama, Horseaddict.net, restlessjo, travel-gourmand.com and others who shared the name of their respective theme as I did my research.

Any feedback as we shape my site is also very welcome.

  1. How wonderful to have Cee’s help in reshaping your blog! I’m not sure what you’re looking for in a theme but if it helps to know, I use Ashe. It’s a very clean-looking one. I chose it after seeing the Hungry Travellers’ blog and asking what they used! I’ve opted for the pro version to have increased flexibility of colours etc, but even the standard version looks good imho πŸ™‚

    1. You’re right. I started blogging about travel, but seeing her photos challenged me to work on my photography. And then my options for posting grew.

Karen from Underdown blog, played in my CFFC challenge this week. I’ve known her for a little while now and I’ve followed her for a long time. She chose me as her act of kindness. I’m overwhelmed at how generous and kind she is too. Check out her post.
