For Becky’s ‘kind’ squares this month, these metallic, or shining, starlings from Airlie Beach, in Queensland.


They certainly prefer their own kind and, as you can see from the top photo, they create a nest colony and at sunrise, sunset and random other times, they fly around in a noisy flock, settling back near their nests and continuing the cacophony.
Even if you missed the flight, or their shining blue and green foliage, you couldn’t possibly miss the noise.
Thank you, they ARE eye-catching. Their red eyes only add to the colour.
