Top End

This is the colloquial name for the region at the top end of Australia, from Darwin down, but including Katherine, Palmerston and Kakadu National Park. Further south in the Northern Territory is Alice Springs and the region called the Red Centre.

It’s a top destination, with year-round hot weather and sights. I’ve included it for Becky’s ‘top’ squares.

In case you’re wondering, we don’t have a Bottom End.

Travel safe. Take a hat, sunscreen and water when travelling in Australia.

  1. You do need a lot of time if you take your time, and I realize it’s a long way to come if you only do one state each visit. Ah well, it looks like you’ll have to come for 6 months! Er, make that a year.
