I thought I was writing about a butterfly drying it’s wings, but NO! I quickly discovered that this insect was a MOTH (gasp!) and a Grapevine Moth, at that.
Even worse, my post a few weeks ago, of an unexpected visitor, is now revealed to be a visitor I should have exterminated before it got to adulthood.
If that isn’t bad enough, I read that a bird was introduced in the late 1800s to eat it and that, too has become a pest – the myna bird!
My hopes of a cheery post for Becky’s April squares toppled.

Brilliant #SquareTops, but yikes about the moth and the bird. Top pests may look fabulous but they need to be toppled!
