So, which State do you want to visit first? There are 6 States and 2 Territories in Australia

One of the territories, the Northern Territory, is as big as a State, while one of the States, Tasmania, is very small (the island on the bottom right).
I live in South Australia, which is centre bottom. The largest State is Western Australia and they market themselves as “Australia’s best-kept secret”.
According to a government tourist agency, the statistics show that most visitors (national and international) visit States in this order of preference:
- New South Wales (NSW),
- Queensland (Qld),
- Victoria (Vic),
- Western Australia (WA),
- South Australia (SA),
- Tasmania (Tas),
- Northern Territory (NT) and then
- Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
Each State has its merits, attractions, discouragements. I’ll deal with each one in as much detail as I have on them, from experience, as honestly as a mate.
Safe travels.
